Naski was founded by a husband and wife team with a shared passion for outdoor adventures and a commitment to providing exceptional gear that will withstand whatever the mountains throw your way. We recognised a need for a snowsports store in the Cardiff area and set out to fill that gap. Naski is our way of living in Wales but still being in the ski industry.
After leaving university Naski's founder, John, decided he would do on a ski season before finding a 'real' job, so he packed his bags and went to Japan to work as a ski and snowboard instructor. From Japan he followed the winter to New Zealand and for the next couple of years travelled between the two. As he spent more time in the mountains John realised his interests lay more in the backcountry and trained to become a backcountry guide in Japan, whilst working as a ski patroller in New Zealand. After returning to the UK he worked in retail, fitting boots and servicing skis.
With all these years working and living in mountain environments we know what is important when you're out in the mountains.
